Ferguson, MO = blacks arrested 3x as much as whites. In some places, the rate is

much higher (up to 10x as much)

Arrests per 1000 residents

Ferguson: 186.1 (black) / 66 (non-black) = 2.82x

Bellevue: 237.7 (black) / 30.7 (non-black) = 7.74x

Tukwila: 921.3 (black) / 202.4 (non-black) = 4.55x

The tables above can indicated that it seems like we still somehow consider black more suspicious and dangerous.

Racial Position Model

Moreover, there is a four-quadrant pattern predicted by the Racial Position Model. There shouldn’t be a comparison of racial groups. Every culture is unique and should be respected. However, our society doesn’t seem to have much changes substantially from the past. Some blacks still suffer a lot from discrimination.
